What’s new for Blockchain Week 2023?

Blockchain Week is the largest blockchain, cryptocurrency and digital asset festival in Australia, and the team at Blockchain Australia are proud to be bringing it back for 2023. As interest in blockchain technology continues to ramp up, it’s important that our event addresses the hot topics, latest trends and contributes to the end-game of mass adoption. As such, there are plenty of new and exciting things to expect from Blockchain Week 2023 – here are some highlights.

Web3 Fringe Festival

Perhaps the biggest change for 2023 is the launch of an exciting new national Fringe Festival, dedicated to celebrating everything Web3. With events in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane, the festival will comprise workshops, discussions,  installations, concerts, competitions and more. Expect to meet the businesses and people driving innovation in the world of DeFi, NFTs, and the metaverse, affording visitors plenty of opportunities to learn, get hands-on and discover the potential of Web3 in Australia.

A Focus on Education

If you’re new to the world of Web3, the Day 3, is for you! Wednesday is dedicated to entry-level education, careers, and innovation. Want to learn more about NFTs? Or why Bitcoin is such a big deal? There are plenty of classes running to get you up to speed on digital assets, as well as educational sessions about securing your assets. Budding entrepreneurs will also appreciate sessions dedicated to starting a business in Web3, including how to build successfully on blockchain and moving your business into the Web3 space.

Day 4 Goes Global

In a bold move to foster global participation, Day 4 of Blockchain Week 2023, is a completely virtual event. This innovative approach allows attendees from around the world to engage with the event, with region-specific content scheduled throughout the day. Tune in to keynote addresses and panel discussions that unpack the regulatory landscapes of APAC, EU, the US and the Middle East. Learn more about the world’s emerging markets and the challenges – and potential solutions – in navigating cross-border compliance and individual country regulatory frameworks.

The Great DAO Debate

In a Blockchain Week first, we’ll be hosting a live and interactive ‘Great DAO Debate’. Wrapping up our final day, the debate will take us through pros and cons of a DAO business model, as industry experts discuss issues of governance, transparency, organisational structures and more. Audience members will be invited to participate in live voting sessions throughout the debate, encouraging critical thinking and presenting opportunities for open discourse long after Blockchain Week has wrapped up.
